Guludo Beach Accommodation:
Tented Banda: Our tented banda's are unlike anything you've ever stayed in - the beauty lies in their complete openess to the amazing scenery surrounding the accommodation.
This enables guests to be tucked away safely inside a spacious, stylishly furnished tent - while feeling as if they were actually outside thus allowing guests the very special experience of watching the moon or sun rise over the sea and hear all the intriguing noises of the African bush.
The spacious tented bandas give breathtaking panoramic views through their netted walls. The raised bedrooms sit under an expansive palm-thatched roof, opening upwards and outwards to make the most of cooling sea breeze.
Adobe Banda: Our beautiful adobe bandas have been hand-built by a local workforce and design by award-winning architects Cullum & Nightingale; combining the best of traditional techniques with clever design features and eco-technology to provide the ultimate in barefoot luxury.
Each banda is just footsteps from the beach. The large double doors and window create a natural fusion of the in and outdoor spaces and a feeling of openness.
A large high roof opens upwards and outwards, covering the spacious the stylish Swahili-inspired veranda, hammock and traditional beach sun loungers. The design takes advantage of the gentle sea breezes, ensuring the banda stays cool, day and night. Inside is a discrete suttered window (reminiscent of a castles' arrow slit or lancet) sits above a writing desk, where the morning tea, coffee and pastries are left. The sleeping area is on a raised platform boasting a lavish king-sized bed under an extravagant, hand-crafted mosquito net; ensuring the most is made of the dazzling sea views.
Behind the bedroom is a large open air bathroom with twin sinks and mirrors, ingeniously carved out of the banda wall. A huge shower completes a zen like space from where you can relax, unwind and shower under the canopy of bright stars. Positioned to the side of the private bathroom and up a small staircase is one the best views in the lodge... the view from the loo! Stable door style shutters allow you to decide on just how proud you want to whilst enjoying the view!
Family Suite: Guludo is a great place for families to escape today's hectic life while getting back to nature and enjoying some quality family time.
Guludo's long, safe, gently sloping beach is the perfect playground for children of all ages. There is plenty to keep a family busy, with most families staying 1 to 2 weeks and endless opportunities for children to interact with local children and gain an insight into local life.
Our beautiful family banda has been designed specifically with families in mind...
...enabling parents to keep their children close but in a separate living space. The banda comprises of two adjoining buildings, one side being a lounge and areas for the children to sleep safely under mosquito nets and the other side a large bedroom for the parents with an extravagant king-sized bed. Cots are also available on request and can be placed within the same mosquito net as the parents.
The team at Guludo are all excellent with children and thoroughly enjoy having families to stay; always going the extra mile to help take the pressure off parents as well as entertaining the children. There are several complementary services we can provide to help families, including a daily laundry and a baby sitting service during the day or evening.
Zala Suite: Ideal for honeymoons or couples on a romantic holiday, the Zala Suite is set at the end of the lodge, ensuring maximum privacy and space.
Similar to the Adobe banda, it has all the same great design features and layout, but you also get a private central courtyard for completely secluded sun-bathing during the day and a romantic candle-lit open air star bed at night.
Across the covered walk-way from the bedroom which encloses the courtyard is the lounge, a large, simply decorated space; ideal for lazing with a book on the sumptous cushions in the heat of the day. The mezzanine level provides a cosy snug, where you can relax any time of day, with a glass of wine and your loved one. This really is the epitome of barefoot luxury that offers just that little more indulgence.
